This location is where the Takayama-sha company established the "Seion-iku" method of silkworm rearing in the first half of the 1880s. The method became the nation’s standard and spread all over Japan.The silkworm room where the company’s founder Chogoro Takayama invented the method, the main house, Nagaya-mon gate, and other facilities remain.
